I voted no, but am actually glad it didn’t go through. I think the contract is a pretty decent one and am actually glad to not have to strike so close to the holidays!
Voting no didn’t mean we would go on strike. It meant we would force UC and our bargaining team to go back to the table to get a contract that more closely resembled our initial demands. If impasse had been reached, and the contract expired, then we would need to get the membership together to talk about whether we thought a strike would help us get what we need.
