AWDU in the news

12 Apr

AWDU members at Berkeley have been working on multiple fronts to engage our union in the fight against budget cuts here at Berkeley, here are some recent articles in the Daily Cal featuring grad students who are active in AWDU:

  • A student alliance has come together in African American Studies, Ethnic Studies and Gender & Women Studies to fight the administrative consolidation of their departments.
  • As part of our fight against the new policy of “benefits decentralization,” the Berkeley unit has filed 62 policy grievances against the campus administration.
  • This Saturday’s Joint Council meeting of our local ended when members of the current leadership (who might be emailing you as the “Social and Economic Justice Caucus”) moved to adjourn the meeting only halfway through the agenda, denying AWDU members the right to present resolutions aimed at insuring a fair election.
